![]() Founded in 1984, the World Wide Karate Organization, also known as the WWKO hosts Martial Art's events including seminars, tournaments and an annual Hall of Fame banquet. THE WWKO holds two karate tournaments and two workshop seminars a year. The Hall of Fame banquet is held each May. It is the only Martial Arts Hall of Fame that is geared to recognize black belts that are also still actively teaching. It was also designed to keep the black belts' active in the martial arts. The hall of fame votes on only 6 inductees each year and 1 unexpected inductee. Note: All inductees do not pay to be inducted; they will get the hall of fame jacket and dinner for them and one guest and 3 under black belt inductees will also be voted in. The WWKO set up a black belt directory to keep an up-to-date location on the black belts. The black belt directory will show the legitimacy of each and every black belt on the list. The list will start with black belts that, without question, are black belts; the next group under that first list must have a black belt certificate from one of the black belts on the first list; the next group will have to have a certificate of rank from one of the members of the second group and so on. All certificates must be presented to the board, without exception. Next will be tournaments; one will be held in March and the other will be held in September. The tournament will have hard kata style and soft kata style. There will not be no traditional, no musical or acrobatic. All students doing kata must be able to explain his or her kata. Weapon kata, again, must only use traditional kata and not musical or aerobic and must be prepared to explain his or her kata. Sparring, points only, must be delivered with power and control; again no acrobatic fighting. SEMINARS: One in JUNE and the other will be in DECEMBER. The seminars will be workshop seminars that will be held by members of the WWKO. All members must be on the black belt directory. |
